1997 75 ELPT Force outboard over heating

My 1997 75 ELPT Force outboard is over heating, I changed the water pump. Water was dripping out the **** hole and now nothing. I am thinking of switching out the thermostat. I also am getting water coming out where the lower unit connects to the outboard

Sounds like maybe you didn't get the water tube that goes to the block lined up with the outlet on the water pump, or the plastic adapter on the water pump that seals the water tube to the water pump is bad, got knocked off or out of alignment?
