Welcome, you should read the stickys at the top of the page and the helps on the prop store page.
Usually prop selection would depend on the individuals boating activities.
Some folks just cruise, others do heavy water sports others want the most speed
some boat wth a boat full others just a couple of people.
As you might expect you need a prop that suits your boating activities.
Disregarding any info so far a 19" pitch would be a good start.
You will need a working tach and a gps for accurate speed to evaluate your prop.
Do you presently have a prop?If you give us as much info as possible from the stickys
If you get us your present performance it will help as well.

From Bayliner's 1997 1750 Parts Manual:

3.0LX ALPHA I (EK3)
ENGINE SYSTEMS
* 62236 3.0LX A1 1.94 SD EA 1
* 14691 13-3/4 X 21 PROP-MERC I/O EA 1

But, if you have any prop at all, I'd test that, before purchasing anything.

If starting with none (after verifing drive ratio 1.94), the 21P would not be a bad starting point for cruising. A 19P would be a better starting point for pulling water toys or heavy loads.
