1997 Johnson 150 low oil light

I have a 1997 sea pro center console with a 97 johnson 150. Just the other day when i was out with the family the low oil light came on, on the tach. I pre mix 50:1 with ethanol free 90 octane gas. I bought the boat used and the guy i got the boat from didnt know much about the mechanics of the boat. I was wondering if anybody out there can help. As far as i know there no oil reservoir or oil injection. I just changed the oil in the lower unit twice this past month just to give it a flush and im pretty sure theres no oil sensor down there. Thanks for any advice.
