1997 Maxum 17.5' Bowrider floor replacement. Where to start?

Hello. I have some soft places in the deck of my boat. It is mainly over the tank, but it is soft in about three other places as well. I think the front piece is fine, but the mid section and the rear looks to be th worst. The boat does not leak, but it has set outside quite a bit before I got it. Best I can tell, transom is great, hull is great, etc...planned on replacing the deck, and going back with a textured coating instead of carpet. Where should I start? I have exp in doing some wood work, fiberglass, and painting. Thanks. Shawn

Welcome to iboats. This firs thing you need to do is read read read. There are man threads here about boat restorations. There is a whole section about completed projects, and that is where you should start. Once you have learned the basics, start a resto thread and we will help you along. There are two good threads in my signature, also.

Thanks so much for the info. Looks like a long process:/. I'll post some pictures as soon as I get the damage un covered!!!
