I am completely new to the Jet ski world. I bought a 97 Seadoo spx that had a bad steering cable for $500 with a trailer. I figured I could part it our and come out even if something went wrong. I replaced the cable and the ski runs great. I used it all last season and I have just gotten it out and used it a few times this season. I am huge on routine maintenance for my big boat. I have a laundry list of things I do every season to make sure it is in top condition. I have no idea what to do on the ski. Are there bearings to grease, gear oil to change, places to oil, or anything like that? Are there cooling impellers that should be changed? Any help is greatly appreciated. Also my ski has a flush kit installed on it so it can be started on the hose. I know the process is start the ski, turn on the water, turn off the waters, turn off the ski. How long can the ski run before the water is turned on? I know with outboards its seconds before you begin damaging the impeller. I see people with their ski's on trailers at the launch and the start them up out of water and rev them up to clear out the water. It makes me cringe.
