1998 35HP Evinrude - Overheating/Missing Problem

I have a 98' 35hp Evinrude moter which is giving me all kinds of problems this year. Lately, I've had it overheat when backtrolling, then after that the moter started missing and then killed on me. It ended up fouling the spark plugs. I took them out and found that they were saturated in gas and oil. Basically after this, the spark plugs kept getting fouled and the moter just didn't want to run. I've had a new termastat put in and the water pump seems to be working alright. Its been in the shop, and they couldn't find anything wrong. Any Ideas or Suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, it is a 3 cylinder.

Some of the pulse fittings I.D. were to large, which allowed the spring inside the hose to migrate thru the fitting into the crankcase. SN 4508301-4555858, 1998 and 1999 engines. SB # 2339 dated Nov 1998. Excessive oil SB # 2337 dated Nov 1998, check fuel system for air leaks. SB 2343 dated Mar 1999 power coil output spec changed to 30 volts or higher.

Thank you for the info. <br /><br />I did have a problem with the carbarator lines blowing off but I zip-tied them on. Maybe I still have one that's off? When this happened, the moter did the same thing: missing badly and didn't want to start.<br /><br />This may be a dumb question but I'm new to this internet site, what do your references to SB# 2339, 2337, 2343 stand for? Where can I see more information about these Reference #'s.
