Hi everyone,
I'm new in the boats. Last year bought for my self 23 foot Bayliner Trophy with two 1998 120 Force outboards engines.
Just tested this weekend, never have been taken to the water.
Engines runs fine and went on from first try, props are good too. But I need help with some information:
1. Fuel Mixture Ratio
Is it suppose to be 25:1(4%oil) or 50:1(2%oil)?

2. Circulating pee ejecting water.
How much water should come out from pee holes when engine is running on neutral?
In my case it was water coming out from the holes, but it wasn't hall a lot, just a little.

3. One of the engines stops running on neutral.
I don't know why. When i turning on the engine on F it starts and runs, but as soon as i put on neutral stops running.
I'm thinking it may be Carburetor Regulation. I don't know how to regulate the Carburetors.
Please, maybe somebody know other reason why it could happen?

4. I'll happy to get some advises what should i check or replace before taking boat into the water.

Thank you

Hi kozok06. Welcome to Iboats.

My advice would be to a full service on the motors before you start using them. Either do it yourself or take to a shop. Then you will now the motors are OK and not have any nasty surprises on the water.

Fuel Mixture is 50:1 for these motors.

I have attached a service log as a guide to what to checked. The ?link and sync? thread in the ?Sticky? at the top of the Force list shows how to tune the motor.

A service manual is a must if you want to work on the motors yourself. You can buy them on this site or on ebay.

These motors are easy to work on yourself if you have a basic knowledge and are prepared to give it a try. People on this forum are fantastic and will help you with anything you need to know along the way.

Force motors had a bad reputation for reliability but this was due to the people that owned them were new to boating and didn?t maintain them properly. Keep the maintance up to them and they will be as reliable as any.

Good Luck
