1998 Force 120 won't start after running.

I'm new to this forum, and so far you guys have been a great help... Thanks. I have a 1998 Force 120 that will start right up and run like a kitten when I first drop it in the water, but after an hour or so of running, and then shutting down, it takes a few tries to get it started again. It seems like the longer I run it, the longer it takes to start, and even then I have to raise the engine because it will stall under a load. I've replaced the plugs and checked my fuel filter and smell gas at the carb so I think it's a flooding issue but not sure. When I remove the engine cover it seems like water is pooling in the bottom of my carb covers. I don't know much at all about 2 stroke motors, but I am very handy so I will try anything you guys suggest.

The "water" pooling in the bottom of the carb covers is most likely fuel/oil mixture. A little bit is normal, however, if it's enough to fill the bottom of the cover up to the lip, then that may be a problem. Gas smell at the carburetors is pretty much normal unless you can actually see it dripping out. How long has it been since the fuel pump diaphragm has been replaced?

I just bought the boat 3 weeks ago so I don't have a clue when (if ever) the fuel pump diaphragm was changed. I don't notice fuel dripping from the carb, and it isn't filling to the top of the lip, but it seems to be more than what should be "normal." I'll replace the diaphragm and see what that does... thanks and I'll keep you posted.

Well I replaced the fuel pump diaphragm today and there were no tears in it. I started the motor to check for leaks and there is fuel dripping from the upper carb ( the bottom one is dry). Do I need to rebuild the carb???
