Clean the nuts? Then a bit of heat maybe?
If you have that much oil it should come apart easily.

If your getting that much gunk, then the bottom crank seal is probably bad and needs to be replaced.

Profile, location? You might be close to someone who can help.

First, Thank you to every body for taking the time to help.
Second, I updated my profile and am resending the photos.....

Not sure what to do about the bolts. I may need professional help if they crumble. Needless to say, I am not excited to pull the block apart.

Even though I lived my entire childhood life with my grand father, a Chief Engineer in the Mobil Oil Company (Super Tankers and Tugs), he would not let me pickup a wrench. Thus, I am mechanically challenged and have more will than skill. Lol

Thanks again everybody for taking the time. This is a truly wonderful forum.

Wire brush and maybe a smaller wrench, maybe a metric??
Try to get a 6 sided socket on there?
They look nasty but should come off.

All these parts are still available so if you have to cut them.
Oh yea only buy quality tools.Sears is a good place to start.

If you get real desperate come on up and we'll try together???
I'm only an hour north.

I used to ask my brother to show me how to work on my vehicles.
Knowing he'd get tired of watching and do it for me.
Then I moved away and I found I couldn't afford a mechanic so I started doing it myself.
Fortunatly I was good at it and caught on quick.
Then eventually got a job working at a marine sales outfit and the rest is history.
No I only get someone to do the real ugly things like the exhaust etc.

Know this that having the "will" is sometimes more beneficial than having the "know-how". It's the will that tends to be lacking in today's world.

In my case, I'm a cheapskate, so it's more of a "need" thing. Couple that with an innate desire to be on the water and the next thing you know I'm buying tools and ordering service manuals. Jerry's a big help, so you're in good hands.

Thanks for the inspirational words! I got down to business today and pulled the old, rusted corroded bolts from the adaptor plate. Your right in so much as "the will" has it going on here. It goes to show ya that man will do anything to get that boat in the water, despite what the wife says....... Lol.

Thanks again
