Outboard is a J175EXECD. The middle carburetor on the port bank has had intermittent flooding issues for the last couple of years. I have overhauled it and tweaked the float drop a couple of times, but that routine has reached a point of dimishing returns. The float bowl is visibly warped and now when I pump the primer ball, gasoline free flows out the throat of the carb.
I have acquired another carburetor - the number on the side of the body flange is 436797.
The original carb number is 436798.
According the information included with the BRP carburetor overhaul kit, my original carb uses the brown gasket and the donor carburetor uses the black gasket. What else is different? Does anyone have any information regarding the applications and/or interchangability between these two carbs?
Edit: Figured this one out. The 436797 has a smaller 1.2" diameter throat whereas the 436798 has a larger 1.5" throat.
