hey all ive got a 1999 75hp force on my 16ft procraft bass boat it runs 39-41mph on the gps dip. on water conditions is there a better prop i can put on it to get more out of it. it only turning like 4700-4850 on rpms WOT. not sure what prop is on it i have to take the prop off and get the number off the inside of it cause there is no letter or numbers on the outside. any ideas to get more or is that all ill get?

Get the numbers off the prop hub.
If it is a 17 pitch, get one with a 15 pitch.
If its a 15, get a 13 pitch. etc.
Should improve holeshot a little, and speed a little, maybe 2-3 mph.

That about it.

Another thing you might check, make sure the anti-ventilation plate on the outboard is about 1 or 1.5 inches above the bottom of the hull. See the picture below.

If you go to the propeller forum, they have some great programs that can determine what prop you should be running. All they need is your prop info and speeds at 500 rpm intervals.
