I purchased a motor last year and the person whom I purchased it from allowed the local marina to do standard maintannance on it twice a year. The engine had run fine on the hose but once it was in the water I have Idel issues at low rpm. The motor runs excellent at high rpms. I cleaned the carbs out with a foam cleaner that is safe for two cycle engines and replaced the fuel pump ( regular maintainance ) just to make sure that wasnt an issue. I can run the engine on the rich setting with the red knob on but when I switch it over the engine runs good then sneeses and shuts down. I have to turn the knob back on and then the motor starts but idels ruff and not all cylenders fire because of rich fuel and smokes heavly. I had the timeing checked and it seems to be within specifications. I would like to purge the carbs with the cleaner overnight. Any sudgestions? Thanks....
