long story short... boat was running hot at low rpm so i picked up a set of stats and new water pump kit. the old stats were seriously nastified..dont think they were ever changed. the bore that the stats sit in decayed around the edges so after replacing them and water testing one was dribbling and the other slightly more.
from what it looks like to me is the housing is part of the cylinder heads..i think.. the head torque specs are in raised letter on the head. i dont know where to find serials numbers to find out my engine . has anyone come across a problem similar to this? does anyone make an oversized stat gasket? would i be better trying to maybe jb-weld where its pitted and file it flat?or am i looking at putting a new set of heads?
i didnt run the boat for very long hot so i hope there isnt much damage.i found out my alarm isnt working
in retrospect i dont beep when i turn the key on. after spending so many years racing cars ive become quite the gauge watcher
maybe pictures of the motor will help identify? im gonna try to go get some
not that it matters but its a 21 searay laguna cc 200 mariner offshore
thanks in advance
