Re: 1st Concert

If I had to pick a favorite concert it would be a three way tie.

When Billy Joel and Elton John toured together back in the ninetys

When the Eagles reunited saw them at the spectrum (first Union center)

And Garth Brooks wow what a show.

Re: 1st Concert

As a kid growing up in San Francisco in the 60's I used to play at a park called Dolores Park near Mission Dolores. Every Sunday a group would gather on one side of the park and start a jam session with bongo drums, trumpt, sax and guitars. They were good. They were great. Years later I learned that one of those guys was Carlos Santana. Not sure if that was true or not, but they were good.
I've also heard "Tower of Power" in street concerts.

Bon Jovi and Cinderella opened for them. It was 1986 or 1987. I remember it was fun but thats about it. I loved those "Hair Bands" gotta laugh when I see those videos now.

Allman brothers, Seen em to many times to count. To bad they are all but gone these days.

Some one mentioned Steppenwolf, Saw them back in the 70's. Also Saw them (John Kay ) at a motorcycle fest a couple years ago and they sounded better than ever. John Kay has not lost a step. They did all the old stuff, it was great.

Yea Bubbakat... I can only imagine what life was like back then. Man I wish I could have seen it!
Where men were men, society wasn't feminized, and illegals were interrogated and tossed back across the river they came from.

The town I'm is too geriatric and doesn't cater to any of the good bands.
God forbid a good hard rock band comes here and disturbs Grandma's pinochle night!

My first concert was Night Ranger.

The only bands we get now are at the county fair.
You know the ones... that are winding down and getting gigs anywhere they can?

This town sucks for entertainment.
The last decent air show we had brought in 2 broken F16's... They both were grounded as soon as they arrived and had to be disassembled and trucked out. Both had broken bulkheads.
Guess that's what we get for bargain air show material!

I have to drive 300 miles North or South to get to a good concert.
I don't go to the fair anymore either. The prices are outrageous and the entertainment horrible. It's all 'poo-kickers' around here.
They never bring a good rock band.

H.

You're going to laugh, I know, but this is a girl thing. I was big in to Hardy Boys and the Shawn Cassidy/Parker Stevenson thing. 15 years-old in the 70's. So, my Dad managed to get tickets through his Civil Service job to a Shawn Cassidy concert at the Shubert Theatre in L.A. Mom, little sister and I went. Oh! I was so in love!! Hee hee :D ;)
Best concert was Eagle's "Hell freezes over" Tour. Awesome and I sang along to every song. :D :D
Bassy

Re: 1st Concert

Boy am I out of place here! The first girl I was engaged too, drug me to a Kenny Rogers Concert. He sucked the big one, and never could carry a tune in a boat, much less a bucket.

The other Concerts I've been to, I guess don't count, because I was a Bouncer. Never been to a Rock Concert. After dealing with as many crowds as I have, never really been interested in paying to go get in another one.

Kiss..1976 what a show. Still probably the best overall concert I have ever seen.

Anybody remember Wendy O and the Plazmatics? She used to get naked and go nuts with chainsaws (among other props :D ) Far and a way the wildest.

Stevie Ray Vaughn! Wish I'd known about him before he died. Hubby and I caught a concert of one of his old concerts on PBS about two months ago. Man! Can that guy play! I've never seen anyone do to that guitar what he could do! Totally awesome! Now I know why he is in a class all by himself.
