1st time impeller job

1st time I have done this by my self. Was wondering should I order the Mercury parts or aftermarket parts.
I see where you can get the aftermarket parts in a package but I cant really find the package on the mercury website.
I have a 2006 Alpha 1.

Your boat, order whichever parts you want. Mercury does make a kit, I believe, that has the impeller, bottom plate, gaskets, and misc. seals. So do several aftermarket companies.
Sierra is one rather prominent aftermarket supplier.
Search around for water pump kits for Mercruiser Alpha I gen II, you should get all kinds of places to purchase both Merc. and non Merc.
Right here on Iboats is a good place to start.

I got mine from the local Napa. They had it in stock.

i replaced mine i have a alpa 1 take the bottom of the out drive off its like 6 bolts the impleller is right there,mine was melted,be sure to refill gear oil,not that hard of a job for alf 1 good luck

I have installed many, many Sierra w/p kits with no problems

if you want a kit basspro shop has a mercury kit for alpha 1
