2.3L to 5.0L??

I have an 88 bayliner capri 17 foot. it curently has a 2.3L ford cobra. I have a 289 and would like to swap them out. Are the bell housings bolt patterns the same will it bolt up. fabricating is no issue just want to know if it will bolt up.

find a donor boat for cheap and use it for the swap.

Ayuh,... Your outdrive Won't work with a V8 either...

Best option, just remember you will still have to fabricate motor mounts.

Find a different boat with the power you want.

You are NOT going to find many marine parts for a 289.
