Re: 2 foot'itis

I was sure that an 18 fter for my fam of 5 would be too small so this summer we bought a 20ft and guess what.......wish it was 23!

I'm getting my keel wet with a 18' right now. There is a beautiful 1996 Sea Ray 230 Signature Overnighter around the corner and SOMEDAY she will be MINE! In my mind, that will be all I ever need or want! Please tell me there is an end to this madness!

I was going to go with 18 footer when I was looking to purchase a boat. Then I did some thinking and I went with 21.5. No regret....:D

These garage size 'inhibitors' can suppress the disease for a while . . . but eventually, you go beyond the garage size limitation and store the boat elsewhere.

I had that problem too, then I rented a 13 x 30 storage unit with lights and electricity. cleared up the "maintenance medication" need.

Re: 2 foot'itis

I kind of laughed thinking about two-foot-itis when we upgraded our 15' tri-hull for a 17' bowrider a couple of months ago. It wasn't so much a matter of the extra two feet, but more a matter of doubling the weight/passenger capacity of the boat as well as the horsepower. I'm sure as the kids get older and we refine what we like to do with the boat we will upgrade yet again. Somehow, though, I think the next stop will be much bigger than 19'.

Rgds
wow, did the exact same thing this summer!
