Probably a silly question but, what is the difference between a 2 and 4 stroke motor? I have a 1984 115Hp Evinrude but not sure what kind of oil to mix with the gas.
Thanks,
Arrow
2 stroke oil at 50 to 1 mix.2 stoke motor uses gas and oil mix were as a 4 stoke does not. thats the very short version.im sure somebody will expand on the story.
2 stroke = fires every time the piston goes up.
The gas/oil mixture lubricates all the moving parts in the crankcase.

4 stroke = fires every other time the piston goes up
An oil pump pumps oil from a sump through oil passageways to all the inner bearings and the piston rings
