Re: 200 HPDI IMPELLER REPLACMENT INSTRUCTIONS ?

someplace I posted a step by step instructions for doing this job. it is rather tricky to remove the drive shaft retainer and reinstall it. I dont have time right now to repost it. I think it was for someone with a 115. anyway its not hard just takes patience. I can do it in 45 min but then I have done 2 or 3.
good luck and keep posting

Hi, Wgasa.

Welcome to iboats. :)

One of our members is fond of saying, "Anyone who tries to work on an outboard without a Manual has a fool for a mechanic."

Thirty bux or so is a small investment that may save you thousands.

Good luck. :)

Agree on the necessity of having a manual...

If you absolutely must do the job without a service manual, go to this link and look up your engine.. There are exploded views which may help..
(parts&service) http://www.yamaha-motor.com/products/categories02/5/otb/yamaha_outboard_motors.aspx

That dang o-ring is a pain.... always wants to pop out...

Removing the metal part of the retainer is a bit trickey... take your time and don't tear it up...

Before re-assembly, make sure to clean the area on the shaft where the retainer rides.. Little emery paper works wonders towards making re-assembly (tapping the metal retainer down over the plastic part) go smooth....
