if your unsure its time for an impeller kit,t-stats and a pressure valve groimmet. carefully clean the grommet pocket and dont allow the new grommet to fall into the cavity. when doing the pump remove the rubber dam and the metal holder and clean/replace as nessasary. the 200,like all v6 2stroke yams, has a pressure control valve in the exhaust cover. if it leaks your first indications will be overheat at idle speeds.

thank you very much for your response.i will check it all out as u suggest.do u know of any problem with overheating in reverse only.takes ab out one minute.the counter rotate engine is worse.put it in foward at 1500 rpm and it calms rite down.can idle forward with no problems.anything to do with the bubbly water it takes in while in reverse.hhhmm.thanks again.
