2000 4 hp 4 stroke keeps dieing

2000 4 hp 4 stroke trolling motor will start with one pull idle for about 2 minutes then when I put it into gear it dies. now it even dies when it is just in idle

I should add after it sits for a few moments it will start right up then die again after a minute of running. Today on the lake it would start I would put it in gear we would go for a minute then it dies.

sold the motor so no need to get a reply. got $450 out of it so hope that was good.

Just needed a carb overhaul buddy. Oh well...
