the paint on the bow rail on the 2000 Crestliner Sportfish 1750 I am considering is flaking badly. The boat was used in saltwater and I plan to use it in freshwater. Is this cause for concern? Also, are the bilge and livewell pumps difficult to replace on this boat?

Don't know your boat but if you have a phillips head screwdriver changing the pumps is a breeze. Before you go replacing them though be sure that you have juice to the pumps. You don't want to replace the pumps if they are good and the wires are bad.

1sinbad2<br />I never seen the bow rails painted on a Crestliner. This could mean the Saltwater was never wipe off the rails and they are pitted so they covered it up with paint. It could also be they just wanted to match the boat. I would bet the flaking just means they they did not prepare the Aluminum right before painting. Clean the paint off and use a little polish.
