High risk, Mr. Gibbs.<br /><br />The V6 Ficht engines made before the Bombardier redesign (2002) were poorly engineered and built.<br /><br />Many have turned out to be reliable if all updates are done, but too many have been expensive grenades.<br /><br />I would pass in favor of a Bombardier-built and warrantied 225 or an equivalent Yamaha HPDI (VMAX)<br /><br />Good luck.

I agree with JB. I know of 3 people I have met at Kentucky Lake that have the Evinrude 225,2000 and 2001 and all three have had alot of expensive problems.2 of these are 2000 models and they are trying real hard to get rid of them right now but no one wants to buy them because they know the history of that year of evinrude.
