The engine had a very weak telltale and would overheat about 3000 RPM. Lower rubber seals all rotted. Once change, water was flowing from the water tube as it enters the gear case. So, I have to remove the exhaust housing to replaced that seal as well ... it ain't easy.
You will see in photo 1 that the engine mountings stop the exhaust housing case dropping downwards, and the water feed tube stops the casing moving back.
So, trying to remove the nuts securing the engine to the upper swivel to move the engine off the swivel to release the exhaust housing ... the two large nuts (one on each side of the swivel) do not seem to undo! We've been wrenching on both sides for 30 minutes!
Any ideas on how to remove a) the exhaust housing, or b) the engine from the swivel?
Thanks (and beer for anyone near Wilmington!)
