2000 yamaha 50 hp 4stroke blowing out steam..

ok here we go my 50 hp yamaha 4 stroke has been overheating in a funny way when i idle the peehole is workin when im in gear it works for a while than it overheats with steam commin out of the peehole and it sizzles NOT GOOD!! when i put the hose on the thing to clean out the motor it pisses fine even when i put it in gear BUT the lower unit getts verry hot . this started about a month ago but only when i was cruzin in the no wake zone but it never put out steam oh yeah as soon as the alarm goes on the motor looses all power and the funny thing is the alarm turns off and it picks up again and i didnt shut it down or anythin it gust turns off and the boat runs fine for abot 200 yards than it happens again HELP ME!!!!

oh yeah i run in the flats alot can it be clogged up i already poked out the hole and the lines are clear
