My 2001 8 hp engine starts on one pull. But when I advance the throtle the engine stalls.
Sometimes it stalls with a puff of smoke and a backfire. I changed the spark plugs, new gas, new gas tank and new hose.
A friend thought it could be scored cylinders and/or timing. HELP
I did a compression check last night and I got 90 and 95 in the cylinders. Then I put oil into the chambers and tried again and the compression numbers increased to 95 and 100. Do these low numbers mean that the cylinders or rings are bad????? Ideas are helpful, thanks
