Last year my boat could do 68-70 mph WOT... The boat is a Champion 203 Single Console bass boat. After having it out for a little while today (this is my 3rd time this year, since winter..) I decided to open her up.. On the way back to the ramp, I laid on the hot foot and and trimmed her up, GPS would barely get to 56-58 at WOT, trimmed up... It was somewhere around 5,000 RPMs.. I never could get an exact fix on em'... This is a one guy load, and tournament fishing gear??

What do yall think the problem could be? My Optimax is not one of the ones that got recalled.

Thanks,
Zack

This motor has no more than 150hours on it. FWIW.

Maybe this is the problem????

I just went out to clean the boat out, and there is a "milky" looking fluid dripping from the two trim rods (the rods that the motor touches, when trimming the motor down).. Is that hydraulic fluid?? And now that I think about it, when trimming the motor up/down it has been much noiser than usuall...

As long as the motor reached the proper trim, then that is an additional problem. Do you have fresh fuel in the tank? Is there any additional water in the belly of the boat? Livewells?

Yep... the trim problem I'll have fixed tomorrow, just making sure it wasn't elluding to the problem. I stored the boat with about 1/4 tank of gas for the winter, when I took it out a few weeks ago, I added 3/4 fresh fuel, the livewells were empty....

Lake... like I said, it would run a little under 70, on this same place... I took it out of winter storage, fishied with it twice and then today I tried to run it "all out." I've got a full load.. 1 guy, 12 or so rods, tackle, etc... Most of it is stored up front...

It ran about 70 last year...
