if you're talking about your crankcase oil, better check for head gasket leak or other. if you're talking about your foot/lower end oil, then new seals there. water in oil is not good and will set up corrosion if left, especially if it's salt water!

I have water in my crankcase. Just dont know where its comming from. I have removed the powerhead and inspected the engine holder . I have read some post hear and a few people have complained about a corroded engine holder . The exhaust is pitted but cant see any leaks. Could it be leaking under pressure or should I move on and inspect something else.

it could be a pit or fault in the engine block casting and be so small that it's difficult to locate and/or repair, in which case you could be in for a new block$$$, or it may hopefully be in a gasket or seal somewhere. maybe you can run the motor and then pull the spark plugs to identify which cylinder is closest to the leak. I've heard of water leaks around the spark plug holes near the threads. have you checked the exhaust cover/plates/gaskets?
Good Luck!

Re: 2001 Suzuki DF 115 water in oil

After looking closely at the plugs I noticed #4 was a little rusty . When I looked in the spark plug hole the cylinder was clean . Too clean like it was washed. I removed the head and the piston is washed and the cylinder is wet.

The head gasket doesnt look like it blew. I have no idea how the water is getting into number 4 cylinder ? Any suggestions ?

Was the engine ever overheated? Just because an alarm didn't sound doesn't mean the engine didn't overheat. Alarms fail too.

Does not look like it overheated ? The intake port of the head where the injector sits is also washed clean its not black and all oil and fuel residue are gone ? I removed the coolant plate from the intake and checked for pit or leaks but could not find anything. Could it be leaking when there is a vacuum? This is very strange. Looks like coolant might be coming from intake but not sure ? Has anyone ever seen this in a suzuki 4 stroke DF115 or 90 ?

if a needle sized pit in a casting, the incoming water might flash to steam almost instantly and make it very hard to locate. did you check your cylinder head for warpage? that washed super clean cylinder is a dead giveaway for water intrusion. Keep lookin' and good luck!

what about the fuel cooler ?
water could be mixed in with fuel.

could have a rothole or crack in it

how did it run before you found water in the oil

did you do a leak down before tearing it down.

Check the oil cooler between the oil filter and the block. I`m not sure if this early engine had one. If the oil filter is too tight, when removed it sometimes losen the oil cooler.

I FOUND THE LEAK ! After removing the exhaust valves I took my pic and poked thru the exhaust port into the coolant chamber. After picking away at the corroded metal I ended up with a 4mm hole .
Anyone know where I can find a used head or do you think a good shop can repair it. Thank you all for your help ! ! Hope to return the favor someday.
