2002 35hp impeller

I need to replace the impeller in a 2002 Johnson 35hp and would appreciate any procedures/tips associated with the removal of the leg.I am replacing because it has been about 18mths since purchased.<br />Also what other parts should i check while the leg is off in case they need replacing.

Curl, the best advice is get a manual (preferably the proper OMC one).<br /><br />But you can get a good idea of what is involved if you look here:<br /><br /> http://www.lot-o-nothin.com/lotonothin/article.cfm?id=1 <br /><br />most of it will be similar to your engine, but there may be subtle changes hence the best advice is get a manual.<br /><br />Check the pump housing itself and look for scoring inside where the vanes of the impellor meet the pump wall,<br />Check the baseplate for scoring too.<br /><br />Good luck.
