Hello all: I have a 2002 johnson oceanrunner. I hadn't used it in 6 months as I was out of state working. When I came back, it ran rough. It kept cutting off, no doubt the gas was old. I thought if I burned off the bad gas, I could then put in good gas and it would again run smooth. Stupid me. Eventually, it was so bad, I managed to limp back to the dock.

The engine was completely dead. It wouldn't even try to start or kick over. the power trim didn't work, I had to manually loosen the screw to raise the tilt and trim. Now, the controls wont work, you get nothing. Is there a fuse somewhere?

I tried another battery directly to the outruner from the controls for trim in the outboard itself. Nothing as well. Is there a main fuse somewhere? The battery wasn't too dead, and I gave it a complete charge on my charger and it still wouldn't work anyway. Please help. thanks.

there is a fuse on the port side of the motor, 99% it is blown. it controls the starting circuit, and tnt.

Thanks. do you by any chance have a photo or link to url that depicts it so I can find it? Is it port facing forward? reachable by human hands?

usually port side, rear, near stater solenoid. will be red. also sounds like you have dirty contaminate carbs.
