2002 yamaha 40 4 stroke, TACH

Hello,

My pontoon has no tach, and is currently having lots of issues with spuriatic idle and running issues. Any input on this motor in general is appreciated, but my question is can I buy a universal tach, and where would I pick up a signal for the tach. I was considering a tiny tach, but at 60 bucks I think I could put in the real gauge.

the green wire is the tech wire
check your voltage reg for corrosion
also unhook ur tack and see if it goes away
