Re: 2003 altima
I have an Altima, 2003 too. I cleaned out my air intake and the air cleaner with water to get all the bugs out. The air cleaner was saturated with water. I started the engine and figured a little water in there won't hurt, if anything it would clean out some of the carbon. After running the motor it ran like crap. Same symptoms you're having. I brought to the dealer and just told them my wife drove through a large puddle and the motor stalled. That's right, blame the wife hehe. They hooked it to their computer and found nothing. Said to drive it for awhile and if it keeps acting up to bring it back. I drove it for a few weeks and the problem resolved itself. Their has to be some type sensor in the throttle body that is very sensitive to moisture. I used compressed air to dry it out at first and it helped. This car is all computer fly by wire. No throttle cable either, all run by computer and sensors. Hard to play around with this setup.
If you go to the dealer play stupid. Like mentioned, just say it started to act like this all on its own, otherwise they will tell you that the warranty was voided by using carburator cleaner or whatever it was.
