2003 Merc 90 classic strange tube

On this motor at the lower unit there is a small black tube just above the prop and into the gearcase about half way up.<br /><br />So far I only have the owners manual (getting the service manual soon). <br /><br />Any ideas what this tube is?<br /><br />Tx.<br /><br />Joe

That is for a speedometer hook up. It uses water pressure I believe. Mine has the same thing.

Cutter is great. Don't have it broken in yet so I am taking it easy.<br /><br />Well, I'm searching for the service manual. The latest I've seen from Seloc is 2001.<br /><br />Since it's under waranty, I'll wait 'till next year.<br /><br />Joe
