2003 Polaris 700 Sportsman ATV 4X4

What are your thoughts about this atv I can get it cheap only seen problem is the electric cooling fan motor for Rad has new sensor I can re-wire a spare fan motor I have lieing around or direct wire with a switch ....any issues with these I should know about ...Need it for my land as walking in is tooooo much now as a pack horse lol... getting old and worn out Thanks Guys

I dont personally have experience with that particular machine but I did have a Sportsman 500 that was a beast of a machine. I didnt pet it around either. I rode it hard a put it up wet and it held up well. I've since sold it and it still running stong.

If you can get the 700 cheap, i'd say jump on it. Polaris makes a pretty good machine.

I have only owned Yamaha, but have had a couple of good friends that run Polaris and they love them and believe me we don't treat our machines nice, they get put through the wringer around here from hunting to pulling logs and trees, I know one of my buddies used his Polaris to tow his wife's car home when it broke down, so quite a powerful machine.

Worked with the 6x6s, do not over load them as they are/where top heavy and rolled easy.

Hummm some eat up seals>>>engine to output shaft...but these don't seem to...haven't done to much work on these thats why I was wondering.....I looked at it jumped the fan and she worked .....bad sensor or bad wire....good deal for 1500....will figger it out thanks guys

Dolluper, If its any consolation to ya I'd buy another Sportsman 500 4-wheeler if i needed one. I haven't looked at a 700 model. It would seem to me though, that trying to straddle it would be akin to trying to straddle the hood of a truck...LOL.

I bit the bullet and bought a '13' Polaris Ranger 800 utv back in October and love it. I've had no issues with it so far.

New sensor was good ...ended up split wire....welded up a shield for the sensor so the brush doesn't rip her out ....not pretty but works ...anyways if your sensor goes look at a buick coolant temp sensor 212 kick and re-wire ....this bike goes like stink yahoo.....no more hauling the chain saw and brush cutter ,gas and carp in 400 feet ....me happy

A 700 4-wheeler is a pretty big wheeler.....is it like trying to stradle the hood of a trucK? Is it hard to steer?
