All,

Just looking for some input on VIP's Bluewater/Bay Stealth boats. I am considering purchasing a 2003 216 CCF Bluewater with twin Johnson 115 4-strokes. When I go to the VIP webpage and select Bay Boats it brings me to another website. It appears that VIP's center console style boats are perhaps made by a different company that they perhaps aquired. In general I am looking for any experience with the quality of these boats. I read one article in regards to a bay boat similar to the deep-v I am considering purchasing, and the article's writer was impressed with the deck to hull joint and the overall construction. I know in the past VIP hasn't had the best reputation, however the boat industry is ever changing and these Bluewater/Bay Stealth boats appear to be a different breed of VIP.
Any feedback would be appreciated.

-Craig

While the web sites and advertising are a little different, to the best of my knowledge, they are the same company, built in the same plant.

Kelly Cook

Re: 2003 VIP 216 Bluewater Input Please

Checked out the boat it is actually built quite well. Overall, I was impressed. The guy I bought it from buys and sells used boats as a side business/hobby. He even said the bluewater series changed his opinion on VIP. Some of VIP's fit and finish is not as good as the top-end boats, however that's what makes them a good deal. Once I get out in the boat, I will provide more information on my opinion.
