thought i would try unhooking that sensor that mn brent had posted about ....... and my engine did not stall like it did before...it didnt stall !!!! that is all i can say....will be using it more the first 2 weeks of july .... i will change that sensor before then.... and give you an update thanks again for all the reply's

I am having the exact same problem with a 2003 Volvo Penta gl/sx. It's a strange thing when the engine cuts out, and like you say, it does not happen when the engine is cold, rather after running it. I hope you post your findings soon, as I would like to know whether to proceed if it indeed is the sensor. Any other thoughts would be helpful.

I am currently having this same issue and have been for a couple years now. It has been intermittent. I thought it was a fuel filter issue as I had a bad gas cap gasket, and my dealer replaced the fuel filter and it ran fine for a year. Then a year later again, replaced the fuel filter and then 1 year later again. So now I carry an extra fuel filter, top it off with gas and bang starts right up. Then this year twice in 2 weeks, only this time I just took the fuel filter off and toped it off, after i noticed it was down to 1/2 full of gas. Bang started right up so I'm thinking it might be the Fuel Pump, when it gets hot it is sticking after sitting for a while. My dealer told me to not use 87 Octane gas so I filled it up with premium 92 Octane and threw in a can of sea foam fuel cleaner. It's running great but still haven't tested it out yet as we had a short day. I'll get back with an update in a couple weeks. My guess is it's the fuel pump, getting old, it's a 2003 Volvo 4300 GL. No fuel injection.

If the filter is only half full, you need to find where the air is getting into the system.
