It's time to trade in my trusty Volvo Penta I/O after 20+ years of great service. I've never had outboards before and seek sage advice. I'm seriously looking at a Century 2600 Walkaround with twin 200 FS installed. The engines have 780 hrs on them. They appear to be in great shape with no corrosion and regular maintenance. Compression check showed all good. What is a realistic life expectancy for these engines? What typically goes wrong and at how many hours? Is there anything specific I should look at while inspecting and running them before I buy?
