I just purchased a new to me bot, it's powered by a 2004 F150TLRC, it has the Command Link digital gauges. The trim gauge shows the lowest trim level no matter what position the the motor is trimmed, at times I did see it show a 2 but that's the highest. Any techs out there know where I should start to try and get this gauge working again? I am guessing there is a sensor somewhere on the tilt assembly, maybe that's bad? Where would that be located, having trouble finding it online. Include any part numbers if you can, Thanks!

2004 F150 isnt command link combatible.
you most likly have the 6y5 digital guage.
the trim sender is located just behind the steering tube between the transom brackets and is most likly stuck.
I think the part can be found on bracket 2 of the yamaha parts website.

Hi rodbolt, in doing some research, you are correct about the gauges. If the trim sender is stuck how do I free it up? Is it as easy as spraying some WD40 in and around it? Thanks!

Hi rodbolt, thanks for your help thus far! I located the send unit, managed to take it off and found that the spring-loaded arm that is supposed to move was "frozen" in place with corrosion. I managed to take the arm and spring off and saturated it with WD40 which freed it up to a point. While the arm now springs back into place, it does so slowly. I am concerned I didnt get all the corrosion freed up. My question is, is it supposed to spring back in a slow steady motion or snap back quickly? Thanks!

the trim sender arm should spring back quickly, but, yours may work ok. if the plastic ring with an "arm" that is attached to the tilt tube is cracked, there is a new style replacement part that is made of metal .it has a longer srv. life.
