Hello All,
I have a 2004 Tahoe Q7 with a 5.7L Merc and Thunderbolt V ignition. I'm trying to check/adjust the ignition timing. I read on some other forums that I need to ground out the purple/white wire to put the ignition in base mode and cancel the advance. I thought the wire was supposed to be behind the distributor somewhere but I can't seem to find where that wire lives. I found a purple/white wire with a rubber plug on it on the intake manifold near the fuel rail and thermostat housing (kind of). Is this the wire I need to ground to set my initial timing?
