2005 150 hpdi yamaha

I'm currently researching engines for a future purchase and need info on Yamaha's HPDI. I am particularly interested in the 150 horsepower models.<br />the yamaha dealer here is selling me a pair of 2005 150 hpdi (non current)at a very good $$ he told me no problems reported with 2.6 cm3 block.<br />Any info on reliability, fuel/oil consumption, noise levels etc would be appreciated.

I have a 2001. Seems to be trouble. Am now facing the replacement of the $1000 HP pump. Any savings in fuel will be eaten up by the costly madatory replacement of filters on the engine. One costs $80, and I think the other about $40. I'd look for a fuel injected model, not the complicated and costly to maintain HPDI.

I have 2001 200 hpdi's with over sixhundred hours on them. I use them in saltwater the only thing I do is change the lower gear oil and fuel filter from gas tank. May be it is just luck but i have never had a problem with them.
