I'd be running it with the Rinda Diacom software running. That's the only way you are going to know exactly what's going on and why the alarm is firing.

Only other thing is maybe the water pressure switch. The newer 555 and PCM 09 goes from a solid alarm for low water pressure, to 2 beeps per minute. It doesn't throw a code but if the scanner is watching the sensor it can be seen

OK.. took her out again to see what's up with possible water pressure.... I did replace the water pressure sensor (part # 8M6000623) last year, as the error showed up on my Smartcraft TACH. After replacing, the error has NOT returned, I figure its been fixed...however, on the TACH I get "TRIM 0 WATER PSI 0 (see picture 1) That could be because of having to set up the gauge further, BUT.. my TACH also says "OK" under PSI (see pic 2). What's happening here? Does this mean that the gauge just isn't set up to make a water pressure reading or is this 2 separate water PSI readings ? How many different water pressure devices are going on? Are they all related to 1 ?

So... I replaced water pressure sensor (8M6000623) last year - that fixed my TACH error and gave me an OK under PSI on the TACH at start up. However, also on the tach, when I scroll, it shows TRIM at 0 and WATER PSI at 0.0 ... so I'm confused about how many water pressure operations are going on and what is what !

Looking up the ECM part number found
S/N range 0W060000 thru 0W039999 which also includes other motors
ECM is a 555 for a 350 Mag MPI Bravo with standard cooling

Its either going lean or the timing is off, incorrect firing order, even problems with injectors. Right now without more info of what is causing the beep, no idea, need a scanner

It's hardware (cable and interface) and software that runs on a laptop which gives realtime engine data. Bit like OBD-II for cars... You get it from Rinda. Visit their website...

It's not cheap. Bit of an 'ouch' factor involved, but it's worth every cent...

The ECM is a 0718 and came from Mercury last year as a replacement to work with my upgraded 350 Mag from my 5.0L. Original ECM is long gone. If she’s running lean or timing is off and that’s controlled by the ECM, what are my options ?

Sorry but I'm old and not getting questions answered, just other then with more questions. I don't know what is going on and need more info. As said before

Timing can be checked to see if distributor is installed correctly

I’ve already checked the distributor and all is well. The timing is fine ... I had a guy with a scan tool check it out while on the trailer and said there’s an issue with #7 and so I’m trying to figure that out. I changed the plug ... no change ...It could be an injector, or something software related with the new ECM I bought ... no idea. BUT ... the fact that the water pressure sensor was changed and that wiped the error off my TACH ... I still get a WATER PSI 0.0 on the smartcraft. No error, just a 0 reading so I’m wondering if this could be the problem ....

OK.. So here's the deal. I threw my hands up in the air and brought it in to get a reading on the ECM to see what was up. I had the guys at the marina put the boat in the water and hook it up to the (G3) reader. Their findings were that the boat was wired for a GEN II engine which has a fuel shut off, BUT this replaced 350 Mag is a GEN III engine which doesn't have that because of cool fuel system. Some dork who worked on my boat previously, plugged fuel solenoid into neutral safety switch which means the ECM didn't see the drive in gear while underway. That put it into Rev Limiter. They wired sensor correctly and now I'm off to test drive, as they say it runs fine now. Geez eh? Who woulda thought ? Cost me $600 CND ($400 US) and worth it to gain back my sanity ! alldodge was definitely on the right path. Many thx to all once again. Hopefully, this will help someone in the future... or maybe they won't be as dumb as the guy who can't wire it properly !!
