2005 suzuki DF70

A friend of mine bought a boat last year with a DF70 jet on it.1860 all weld boat, i think?Anyways pretty heavy boat.Saw in another forum where the Johnson 4 stroke 90hp and the Suzuki DF90 are the same motor.My buddy wants to switch to a prop cause the boat is not very fast with that jet on there.Will a Johnson or erude lower unit work on a Suzuki DF70?If so,then what year[years]will work with this motor?

Well, the Johnson 70 4 stroke was a rebadged Suzi DF70, so I guess that foot would fit the Suzi, but I have no idea what changes might have happened during the run of Johnnys and their Suzi twins.
