Brother in law decided to wire up the battery the wrong way.
I've replaced the 20AMP fuse which was fried , checked the wiring, nothing obvious.
Power tilt/trim works OK
instruments work OK
Motor cranks but no spark.
What should I test next, and how? I have a multimeter but dont know where I should begin.
Any help greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
John

Test inputs and outputs of CDI to see what is in spec and what is not.
You will need a service manual and a peak reading meter or a DVA adapter made for reading these ignition system voltages

My initial reaction would be to let the brother-in-law take care of the issue but then he's the one that mucked it up in the first place so that would likely be a bad idea. Check that the kill switch is not tripped. You would not be the first to be in that situation.

no it is not normal unless the oil level is low or the temperature overheat switch is closed showing high temp

What did you find on the spark?
