Hi. My boat has a 2006 Mercruiser 3.0L TKS w/Alpha 1 stern drive. I have a problem that I hope someone can help me with...recently, I replaced the thermostat housing/thermostat due to leaky gasket and rust issues. I re-installed the temp sender, the temp alarm, and TKS sending unit from the old housing. I went out for a test run and everything was running great for the first few minutes then a pretty loud alarm sound started somewhere in the engine bay. I know that I have alarm sensors for the gear lube, oil and temp, but all levels are good. The engine is running between 160 and 170 degrees at all times. No alarm is sounding from the cockpit area. I am wondering if anyone knows a few things:
1. Is there a way to test the alarm sensors to see if one is malfunctioning (ohms, etc.)
2. If I disconnect the wires from all sensors, would that make alarm stop so that I can reconnect them one at a time to see which one is bad?
3. Is there an alarm in/around engine or am I hearing something else????
4. If there is a way to test the sensors, does anyone know what I should look for?
Thank you in advance for any help.
