Hi Folks, I just purchased a 2006 Chaparral with the Volvo Penta 5.0L GX-I motor and SX Drive. I had a few questions on the motor and winterization process. I need to river trial the boat next week and want to drain the motor once I purchase the boat and bring it home. are there only 2 drains on the motor and a drain for each manifold like on my 1996 VP 4.3L or do I need to drain something else. I will also plan on draining the pump and PS cooler but am wondering if I am missing something. Also, does anyone know the HP of this motor.

Also how do you fog this motor since it is Fuel Injected or do you?

Best thing you could do is download an owners manual from the site below.
http://www.volvo.com/volvopenta/glo...ice/publication_search/publication_search.htm
Since you don't have the full engine model number or SN posted, it's impossible to say which manual you need exactly, but if you type in 5.0GXI-F in the engine type box, you can see the choices with the rest of the model number, but the manual is the same for models before and after.

There is a different method used for fogging, Below is a link to the Volvo service bulletin on it.

A hint on the mixture: Mix a 1 gallon mix in an outboard tank, after fogging, pour the rest of the mixture in the fuel tank. It won't be enough to hurt anything.
