should be a breeze, remember when backing up, GO SLOW ........... it takes fractions of seconds for all to go south , and take your time, remember when going in reverse, your steer in the opposite direction you want her to go

water in the gear case, ruh roh , that could get interesting

Water is pretty heavy so that extra in the gearcase may put you over the limit.:D

On a more serious note, what does Mazda, as per the owner's manual, say the towing capacity of your vehicle is? Dealers have been known to be wrong on such things. The MSN Autos site lists a maximum of 2000#. Your boat, motor, and trailer are probably less than this, though.

yeah the manual says 2000 and one dealer said 3500 and the other 3000?? Ill weigh the boat just to be safe i have enough issues with water as it is.

Re: 2007 mazda cx7

i had a 2008 cx7 grand touring.

i think you are asking for problems. the front fascia (especially the first few years) doesnt allow much air into the engine bay for cooling. the cx7 doesnt have much torque before the turbo spools so you will be building boost most of the time, creating addtional heat. the added weight will also put strain on the tranny (more heat causing failure).

the curb weight is just under 4000 and is short while base. if the trailer doesnt have breaks avoid hard stops or the trailer could push the back of the car from side to side.

I just wouldnt do it. the car is not designed to do it by any means and is a nice car.

3500 is a good amount of weight.
