I drive boats, I am no mechanic!
Shifter is in neutral, turn key, engine start and even though the shifter is in neautral, the prop is turning at a pretty good clip. enough so that it would push the boat forward, although as stated, shifter in neutral.
So, putting it in drive it's nice a smooth, assuming due to speed of prop turning gears to match the rpm, but going into reverse, griiiinnnddd! and it goes in, but thought it was high rpm till I seen the prop turning in neutral.
Today, everything was fine all day, then backing off the bank to put it on the truck, I could not get it into reverse, it felt like there is something blocking the cable or it's twisted, have not taken the cowel off yet, will tomorrow, but thought I better ask some advice before screwing up my motor, would rather put in shop if need be for a week or so then forever!!
Also have a hot-foot if that matters.
Thank you in advance!!
