I have a 2008 Optimax 75hp that i am having one heck of a fuel leak.

When I pump the bulb there is a hose that come out of the top of the water/seperator. The hose runs to the bottom of the cowl. Every time I pump the bulb fuel makes it way through the system and then dumps through the line, my bulb never gets hard.

The engine runs great, BUT when I am running it the fuel comes out of here as well.

Please tell me what is wrong.

Thanks

there's a needle -n- seat in the VST tank.it's there to let fuel vapors out.the hose you speak of is the over flow.i think you will have to have a look in side to see if it's stuck or if debris are in it.you can try to pump the bulb and with a light tapping on the cover see if you can free the needle.

woody,

you nailed it on the head, I tried the taping, didn't work. I had to disasemble the VST, realitively easy process, there was a piece from the fuel filter that I changed a few months back. I placed everything back together, pumped up the bulb, and got back pressure. I then started the engine, no leaks at all.

THANKS, you are a life saver.........
