2008 inboard spedo problem

Have a 2008 Ski Centurion. Took it out today and the spedo was reading crazy high. It would jump around at low speed and peg out at 60 when faster than idle. (Perfect pass read correctly). How does the electronic gauge get its speed information? Is there a setting on the gauge itself for calibration? History on the boat. It had sunk and I replaces the instruments and most other electrical items.

If its electronic, it is GPS. If its mechanical, its a pitot tube

Directly to the gauge. Not a traditional pitot style gauge.

is your paddle wheel clean? is it in good shape? possibly a current issue or a gauge issue..

Does the perfect psss get its info from the paddle wheel? It reads correct. The gauge does have a six position switch on the back, and I've matched it to the one it replaced. Maybe I will just work my way through the settings.

Problem fixed. New spedo has a very small 6 position dial on the back. That dial is the key. Had to try several different settings till I got the correct one. Note. Setting didn't match original spedo.
