So my problem is that the boat will not move forward when placed into forward gear. When in Netural, the prop will not spin clockwise but will spin counter clockwise, reverse will not spin in either direction and forward will spin in both directions. I have not done anything to the shift cables and have removed them a d shifted by hand and still get the same results. Idk if my motor is shot or if it's just the prop hub.

PS: First boat so please dumb it down for me.

Have you tried pulling the lower unit off and manually shifting it from there to see if it goes into forward gear?

How hard it is would depend on your mechanical abilities. Overall, probably one of the easier things to do to an outboard. I prefer shifting into forward gear when I remove my lower, as it can help in reassembling and lining up the splines, but if yours isn't shifting into forward, you can do it in neutral.
First remove the rubber plug above trim tab, put a socket into that hole and remove the trim tab. Then, where the trim tab was (the under side), you will see a bolt--remove it.
There are 4 or 6 bolts (depending on the motor)that you can see on the under side that connect the lower unit to the upper part--2 or 3 on each side. remove those and the lower will start to come apart. there should be a rubber speedo hose that is connected that you will have to remove. Then pull the two halves apart.
You can easily google and see plenty of videos on what to do.
Then you can manually shift the lower into forward and reverse and check if its a lower unit issue, or upper half/motor issue.
